Balanced Parenting-Breaking the Cycle and Establishing Healthy Relationships
A trauma-informed parenting class designed to support individuals who have engaged in domestic violence in creating healthier family dynamics.
Vision and Mission
Our vision is to empower parents to break generational cycles of abuse and build nurturing, respectful relationships. The mission of this program is to educate, equip, and empower parents with the knowledge and skills to foster responsible parenting, emotional well-being, and the healthy development of their children.
This program is specifically designed for individuals who have been court-ordered or referred by a Domestic Violence Intervention Treatment (DVIT) agency, in alignment with WAC 388-60BÂ and RCW standards.
Enrollment Requirements:
50% of DVIT Group Therapy Sessions completed or court direct referral
Release of Information from DVIT Group Therapy provider, attorney, Other Party & their attorney, copy of court documents requiring DVIT treatment.
Program Details
Start Date:Â September 5, 2026, January 23, 2027
Class Schedule:Â Saturdays at 8:00 AM (75-minute sessions)
Location:Â Virtual via Zoom

Fees:
Paid Weekly: $50 per session*
Paid Monthly: $180-$225 per month (10% savings)*
Paid in Full: $595 for all 14 weeks (15% savings)

What to Expect
Participants will engage in:
Weekly lessons exploring trauma-informed parenting practices
Group discussions in a supportive environment
Reflective assignments to promote personal growth
Tools and strategies for fostering healthier relationships with their children
Workbook and Journal provided
By the end of this program, parcipants will:
1. Understand the emo􀆟onal and developmental impacts of domes􀆟c violence on children.
2. Iden􀆟fy and reflect on their roles and responsibili􀆟es as parents.
3. Learn effec􀆟ve co-paren􀆟ng, parallel paren􀆟ng, and boundary-se􀆫ng strategies.
4. Demonstrate behavioral changes through documented reflec􀆟ons and assignments.
5. Develop a personal commitment to responsible paren􀆟ng through a final le􀆩er to your
children.
Integration of WAC 388-60B-0415(iv)
The program explicitly meets the expectations outlined in WAC 388-60B-0415(iv), including:
1. Understanding Emotional Impacts: Sessions #6 and #12 focus on recognizing the short and long-term effects of domestic violence on children.
2. Addressing Long-Term Consequences: Weekly discussions explore how domestic
violence disrupts healthy child development, reinforced by recommended readings like
Raising Good Humans and Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids.
3. Documenting Behavioral Changes: Participants are required to:
o Reflect on your understanding of the impacts of abuse through weekly journals.
o Share specific behavioral changes during group discussions.
o Present a final assignment to the group, summarizing your growth and
commitment to responsible parenting.
